Message from Mayor Paul Pisasale

Mayor Paul Pisasale

With such a strong mining background in Ipswich, it is important that we honour all those Ipswich and Rosewood miners who have lost their lives. The coal mining industry has played such an important role in the annals of Ipswich and this memorial will be a tangible and poignant reminder of the past and personifies how the miners have made Ipswich what it is today.

Ipswich City Council is proud to be involved in this project and show its financial commitment to this permanent tribute.

I thank the members of the Ipswich Rosewood Coalminers Memorial Trust for their hard work and efforts to date, to bring this wonderful undertaking to fruition.

Mayor Paul Pisasale
